Antigua and Barbuda’s national flag combines a broad red field with a central downward-pointing arrangement of black, blue and white, topped by a seven-pointed golden sun. The official government account identifies Reginald Samuel as its designer and records 27 February 1967 as the adoption date.

Flag design and meaning

Red occupies the two outer triangular areas, creating a prominent V-shaped frame. Within it is a downward-pointing central triangle: black at the top, followed by a narrow blue band and a white lower section. A seven-pointed golden sun rises from the black area.
