About Malta and its flag
Malta’s national flag is a white-and-red vertical bicolour with the George Cross in the upper hoist-side corner. Article 3 of the Constitution fixes the equal stripes and red-edged cross, while official graphical specifications give the flag a breadth one and a half times its height.
Flag design and meaning
The hoist half is white and the fly half is red. A red-edged representation of the George Cross sits in the canton of the white stripe. Official specifications state that the breadth is one and a half times the height, equivalent to a 2:3 flag proportion.
