Panama’s national flag is a quartered blue, red and white design in a rectangle one unit high by one and a half units long. The upper hoist panel is designated the honour canton. The National Assembly treats the flag as one of the Symbols of the Nation, alongside the anthem and coat of arms.
Flag design and meaning
Four equal panels form the design: white with an upright blue five-pointed star at the upper hoist, solid red at the upper fly, solid blue at the lower hoist, and white with an upright red five-pointed star at the lower fly. The official proportion is 2:3.
