Burundi’s Presidency describes a white diagonal cross dividing the field into four. The upper and lower sections are red, while the hoist and fly sections are green. At the centre is a white disc holding three red six-pointed stars edged in green—one above two.

History and adoption
Decree-Law No. 1/73 of 28 June 1967 says the flag remains tricolour—green, white, and red—and specifies a central disc bearing three red stars, as illustrated in its annex. It also expressly repeals the law of 30 March 1962. Because the decree does not describe that earlier design, this guide does not infer it.
