About Djibouti and its flag
Article 2 of Djibouti’s Constitution identifies the Republic’s emblem as a blue, green and white flag bearing a red five-pointed star. A government reference describes its full layout as light blue over light green, with a white hoist-side triangle containing the red star.

The field consists of two equal horizontal stripes: light blue at the top and light green below. A white isosceles triangle is based on the hoist side, and the centre of that triangle carries a red five-pointed star.

On 27 June 1977, Djibouti’s Official Journal recorded the constitutional proclamation that declared national independence and proclaimed the Republic.
