Bulgaria uses a horizontal tricolour of white, green and red. The National Assembly’s flag law treats it as a national symbol connected to Bulgaria’s independence and sovereignty, and specifies a rectangular flag with equally sized colour fields. The Constitution also states the top-to-bottom colour order.
Flag design and meaning
The flag is rectangular and has three equal horizontal bands: white at the top, green in the middle, and red at the bottom. For a vertical display, the official instruction gives the front-facing order from left to right as white, green, and red.
