Kenya’s national flag is a horizontal black, red and green tricolour, separated by narrow white stripes and centred on a shield with white spears. The current legal description appears in the National Flag, Emblems and Names Act, which declares the scheduled design to be Kenya’s National Flag.
Flag design and meaning
Three major horizontal bands of equal width run from black at the top through red to green at the bottom. Narrow white stripes divide the major bands. A symmetrical shield and white spears are superimposed at the centre, creating a distinctive emblem over the striped field.

The present Act continues to declare the scheduled design the National Flag.
