South Sudan’s national flag is an official state symbol, shown by the Office of the President with black, red and green horizontal fields, a blue triangle at the hoist, and a single yellow star. The office links its legal protection and display to Article 7 of the Transitional Constitution and the National Flag Act 2011. Flag design and meaning
Three broad horizontal stripes run black at the top, red through the centre, and green at the bottom. Narrow white stripes separate the coloured bands.
